I’ve probably mentioned it other times, but earlier in 2021, God began speaking the same phrase to me and has continued to repeat it.
KEEP IT SIMPLE
If you’ve ever seen When Harry Met Sally, there’s a scene where Harry explains to Sally there are two types of women in the world: low maintenance and high maintenance. As it turns out, Sally (and Josey Klemp) are the worst types. We THINK we’re low maintenance but we’re actually HIGH!
Thankfully during some prayer time months ago, I felt like God said to celebrate Lucy and Christian’s birthdays together (Lucy’s is at the beginning of June and Christian’s the beginning of May) and to only do cake and ice cream.
Several times I kept thinking of ways to “improve” these birthday plans whether through increasing the guest list, menu, or activities, but with coming to the end of my pregnancy God kept repeating KEEP IT SIMPLE-and I’m glad we did! My aching hips, back, and feet thanked me later.😅
Another gloomy and rainy day, we couldn’t be outside but it was golden inside. It felt so good to have people in our house again.
I tried to do a Winnie the Pooh party for Lucy but with a little Iron Man for Christian (hence the gold balloons and Iron Man on the cake 😆.) As you can see in the photos below, my mom whipped up a painting of Eyeore the night before the party so the littles could play Pin the Tail on the Donkey. She is so talented! As it turns out, you don’t need to blindfold two-year-olds to get the tail pinned all over the place. 😂
