He or She

With Lucy, God specifically told me at 11 weeks to the day that we were having a baby girl and her name would be Lucille (light) Joy (read more about her name and the confirmations we received here!) And on top of that we did genetic testing in the first trimester because we just REALLY, REALLY wanted confirmation on the gender (and were first time parents who had a major miscommunication on how much it would cost to do genetic testing/find out the gender before the 20 week ultrasound.) 🤪

This time around has been so different in so many ways. Christian and I both kind of had a gut feeling, and felt led a certain way when we prayed but didn’t experience all of the solid confirmations we had with Lucy. At first I questioned this, but have peace that this is a different baby, a different pregnancy, a different chapter in our lives, and so it’s different and different isn’t bad. For a quick second, I proposed waiting until the birth to find out the gender since we didn’t have all the confirmations we had with Lucy, but Christian said no, and now I’m glad he did. ❤️The Lord had given me a theme and vision for the nursery but I was doubting myself since I didn’t “KNOW” the gender or name 100%. God is good.

So, ALL that to say, we were really looking forward to our 20 week anatomy scan, but then our childcare fell through and we got 11 inches of snow (and my OB’s office is about 50 minutes away) SO WE HAD TO CANCEL. Thankfully, we were able to reschedule the same week, and were able to get childcare so Christian could accompany me.

We had the same amazing sonographer we had when I was pregnant with Lucy and she asked us, “Do you guys think boy or girl?” We both said boy and….

OH BOY, OH BOY, OH BOY! WE WERE RIGHT!

We’ve always prayed for happy and healthy babies and would be over the moon no matter what, but we are so very excited for Lucy to have a little brother and for us to have a SON!

God is so good and we are so grateful.
